Kazi safi; Barber dumps clipper, now uses an axe to shave gets several customers
It has come to light that a barber in Kiambu, Kenya, is making waves by employing an unusual implement to shave his customers’ hair.
At the Clippers Kings barbershop, Julius Mwangi shaves customers with an axe.
Mwangi, who has worked as a barber since 2014, told Citizen Digital that he began using an axe to shave three months ago.
Mwangi claimed he started using the axe to win over new customers, and he admitted that the strategy had been successful.
When I noticed that celebrities were frequent visitors, I knew I had to come up with a creative method to attract new clients and turn shaving into an enjoyable experience. How I came to own an axe,” he reflected.
Mwangi said that the axe attracts a lot of customers, but not everyone likes the idea of getting an axe shave.
People are often wondering where they heard about a barber who used an axe to shave. Some visitors just want to see the axe and take pictures with it, rather than really get their beards chopped.
The fearful ones often come to him, but he always manages to calm them down.
Mwangi revealed that there are benefits to using an axe instead of a shaving machine.
If you want a close shave that fits the Jordan look, the axe is your best bet. Even when there’s a power outage, I keep working,” he added.
The barber added that the axe is preferable for use on full beards.
Mwangi spilled the beans about his future intentions, saying:
This axe is too heavy for me, so I’m on the lookout for something more manageable. I shave for KSh 500 (N1,848) right now, but that’ll go increase when business picks up.
