“Governor Kihika is a committed leader and a mother. She has just welcomed twins, and we congratulate her on this beautiful milestone,”* the statement read.

Unfair Criticism Sparks Outrage

The leaders **slammed gender-based attacks**, arguing that **motherhood should never be weaponized against women in power**. They pointed out that Kihika’s absence was temporary and **her administration continued to function efficiently under her leadership**.

“We urge Kenyans to be patient and understanding. Women in leadership are not just governors and senators—we are also mothers, daughters, and caregivers,”* they emphasized.
