I am writing this off an article I’ve seen done by Pulse Kenya. Their focus is a little different from mine because they are thinking most Regular ticket buyers are pretending to be broke.
I think so too but for me it’s because huko Regular ndio kuna mambo. VIP and the other fancy tickets might get you closer to the artist but huko nyuma ndio kuna proper sherehe.
Regular tickets allow you to interact with people who have come to the event for serious party. Huko nyuma watu hawachezi sana na mtandao. Most of them do not go live on IG trying to prove to strangers that they saw Burna Boy.
Huko nyuma you only see shadows of the performer but wewe uko hapo kula ngoma so it isn’t a bother. You are there to use every singel cent that you paid for. Plus ukitoa simu kuna ma gwangi kando yako utalala mteja.
There might be music fans using Regular tickets as a way to avoid the shenanigans that come with being way too close to the artist or just unnecessay inconvenience in terms of fees, but at the end of the day most fun is at the back. Pun unintended.
Hata uliza watu huenda game wanakaa terraces. Huko ndio kidindi inalia proper. Kama uko na mafwaka pia ukiwakisha huezi setiwa na mambleina ju wao huwa huko mbele. Regular tickets are like the class back bench. If you’ve been to any Kenyan school I don’t need to explain further.
