CS Muturi: Ruto Making Too Many Promises He Cannot Keep

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi on Thursday criticized President Ruto’s administration for initiating new projects while numerous others had stalled and without allocation of funding.

CS Muturi, while appearing before the National Assembly Labour Committee expressed concerns over the government’s tendency to initiate multiple projects without ensuring the completion of existing ones.

“I don’t know whether there’s something wrong with our psyche as a country. I’m saying this because I’ve travelled around this country, and I know some stalled projects which have been there for more than 30 years. I went to a place called Wote in Makueni; you find houses whose construction started more than 30 years ago are still stalled,” the Public Service CS said.

Muturi, who has been at loggerheads with the government he is serving in after the abduction of his son last year questioned the Kenya Kwanza administration’s financial allocations formula that ends up setting the stage for incomplete projects.

“If you don’t have enough (money) to do all of them, can you finish one? Can we get enough allocation to finish one, so that the year that follows you can do the other.”

Top officials in the Ruto administration have previously called for CS Muturi’s immediate impeachment or resignation, following his criticism of Ruto.
