Ralf Rangnick Rejects Offer by Man United As Technical Bench Adviser

Former Manchester United interim coach Ralf Rangnick has turned down new job as a technical bench adviser at the 20-time Premier League champions’ (EPL).

Instead, the 63-year-old German coach will set out to focus on the Austrian national team.

The consulting job that Rangnick was expected to carry out at Old Trafford was part of his agreement with Man-United
when he was entrusted with holding the club’s purse strings in December 2021 after coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked due to poor results.

Rangnick’s place in the Man-United camp was taken over by Erik ten Hag at the end of the season after the coach officially
parted ways with Dutch Premier League side Ajax (Eredivisie).

When asked by reporters this week about Rangnick’s real role at Old Trafford and how they will work, Ten Hag said the decision was Man-United’s management.

It was a statement that was interpreted to reveal how the Dutchman was unwilling to cooperate with Rangnick in the Man-United
camp. Rangnick was officially introduced to the Austrian national team management, fans and players on May 29, 2022.

Under Rangnick, Man-United won only 38 percent of their matches, the lowest record of any team under any coach in the EPL. in the last 50 years.

Despite these poor results, Man-United completed their EPL campaign in sixth place in the table and thus qualified for Europa League football in 2022-23.
